Iron Brides Readers- I’m back from NY, feeling both happy and sad….

Had a nice weekend in upstate New York…..touring a resort in Lake George, going to a bridal dress shop in Albany with Julia, and eating homemade mexican food for dinner….YUM!   Julia’s fiance, is the Manager of one of the Marriott Inn’s located in Albany…its a brand new facility, open 9 days now – wow, what a place!   The decor was contemporary, mixing hues of goldenrod, maroon, and olive green throughout the facility.   Very, very plush!    I even had bottled water and apples in the refrigerator that was in the suite.  Thanks, Frank and Julia~

Dress Shopping…….The trying on of dresses didn’t become emotional until…………until………..until the veil went on……up to that point, it seemed like another formal gown occasion for Jules.  But when the sales rep put the veil on my daughter, I started crying! I didn’t let her see though….I was tough!  For the rest of the day,  I had mixed emotions…..happy and sad I guess.  Happy, very happy for her – she absolutely beamed standing on the pedestal at the shop.   I was and am so proud of her!  But also, I was sad….sad that my little girl is growing up….This will be my first wedding for my children.   One more to go after this one.

So, all of you Iron Bride contestants and moms, and mother-in-laws, you make ABSOLUTELY SURE that you go with your daughter to the 1, 2, or 3 dress shops to try on gowns….whether its your first, second, or greater daughter, the feeling is probably the same……ecstatic, yet gut-wrenching to endure.  You love the occasion for your daughter, but also have to face the fact that she is moving on to the next chapter of her life.

Oh yeah, make sure you take tissues with you  : )

On the 19th of October, we will be attending the Castle in the Clouds hosting gala of the Lakes Region Bridal Show, in Moultonboro, NH. That will be a fabulous event. I have never had the luxury of A) attending any form of bridal show or event, and B) having a beautiful wedding.

Yes, I have been married, and due to circumstances beyond MY control, well, you can probably figure that one out … I was married in a log cabin in a rural area of central New York on Valentine’s Day, 23+ years ago, by a Justice of the Peace. For that moment in my life, it was what I wanted. Why? well, I had never envisioned a big wedding because we would have been paying for it as a couple, and we couldn’t afford it. Anyhow, that was another chapter in my book of life that I will close….thanks! However, to go through the process again, I WILL do things much differently : )

On a much brighter note, my daughter, Julia, is planning on driving out from Albany, NY to attend the show in Moultonboro. I am excited because I haven’t seen her in 8+ weeks or so as she attends college in NYS. As far as the Lakes Region Bridal Show, I have sent in her registration. NO…..Julia cannot participate in the NH Iron Brides TV Reality Show, however, she asks how the production is progressing and has been a subscriber to You Tube and My Space, helping to strengthen the popularity on the SUNY Albany Campus…..Way to go, Jules!

More information on the Auditions in Portsmouth later!

A Special Thank You To All At Iron Brides!

After an energizing day of audition taping for the Iron Brides TV Reality Show that is coming to New Hampshire, I was absolutely BUSHED!

Regaining my wind today, I wanted to do a little catching up with college work, Iron Brides work, and my favorite, though I fall behind………Blog Work!    I find it hard to squeeze out the time to write, to help keep Iron Brides and the public informed of this wickedly fast-paced,  growing reality show project that is coming to fruition!  It is hard to describe!

I am finding myself SO wrapped up in this project.  I now have a greater understanding of what my daughter, Julia, had meant as she described her many feelings, upon the completion of her high school musical and drama productions.  I remember her mentioning that all of the actors and actresses involved had formed a family-like connection and that for days afterward, there seemed to be a void in her life, in her schedule, which she ached for….My dear Julia, who is in Albany, NY attending college…..I know what you were saying now!   The only thing is, we are just getting started!

Through countless emails and several phone conversations, I have been getting to know people more and more.  Then, to meet one another face to face – it was alot of fun!   The preproduction and production of Iron Brides is going to be a great time.  There will be many friend relationships built between brides, brides and hosts, etc., and I am very happy to see and sense that.   Selected or not selected, you are all going to have alot of fun, enjoy the learning, and take some good memories with you to use through life.

Enough said!  What I had wanted to say before going on my speel, was a SPECIAL THANK YOU to all of the wonderfully talented, free spirited, and well mannered individuals who came to the audition being held in Nashua Saturday.  No matter what, remember the fun you had.

To Jeff Thayer and Dave Petty, the Director and 1st Cameraman – I enjoy working with you…Dave, like you, I am also anal with organization!  Organization is GOOD!  : )  To Jeff and George, thank you for taking me on as the Associate Producer.  I know I will prove my worth to the team!   This is going to be a great experience for EVERYONE involved.  Along with the hard work will be the fun.  To Marie, thank you for all of your help with checking in contestants for auditions – it can be stressful at times I know.

So, to all at Iron Brides – a huge Thank You for everything and please know that I support this venture 100 percent!
