What a weekend…..is about all I can say! From Thursday til Sunday, it was run, run, run….BUT FUN, FUN, FUN! The Iron Brides Producion team attended NH Film Festival events with a friend, Portsmouth host, and aspiring young actress, Hilary Warburton. We met a number of people who love their jobs in the film industry. Friday took us to the Sheraton Inn in Portsmouth, where we auditioned 30+ people for various contestant positions (brides, hosts, entertainment), had host contestants work with brides and entertainment people in compiling their own skits and ended up with 5 or 6 by days end, and also had some pumpkin painting and Halloween costume pictures created. This information will be available to the public by week’s end. Everyone did a fabulous job!
As auditions begin to come to a close soon, it is going to be time to sift through audition after audition, qualifying each one of them, in the selections for 8 brides and 2 hosts….’Twill be an emotional day!
Saturday was a catch up day…Did get to the Haunted Park at Canobie Lake in the evening….COLD!
Sunday was off and running again, as we headed north for The Lakes Region Bridal Show, sponsored at The Castle in The Clouds. What an absolutely wonderful way to round out the weekend! The weather was perfect, the location and view – absolutely breathtaking! The Lakes Region Bridal Show and ALL of its participants – absolute professionalism depicted through the entire day. Many, many, many thanks to Kathi and her husband, as coordinators of the Lakes Region Bridal Show and Magazine, in allowing us to also be participants and for a job WELL DONE. In speaking with people there, they all said that they felt the event was well attended…..great job!
A tour of the Castle in the latter part of the afternoon was intriguing! One of the assistants to “the Castle” took us on tour of the Castle and WOW, is all I am going to say. IF you have the opportunity to visit a location as intriguing in history, story, and location, The Castle in the Clouds is AN ABSOLUTE MUST!
My daughter, Julia, came out for the weekend and to also attend the show as it is her very first show in beginning wedding preparations for late next year. She said the brunch, the atmosphere, the information given to her – was very instrumental to her. She asked a host of questions to the girls of Andrea’s Dress Shop, the cake demonstrator, and of others. She was happy to have attended and thought the view was likened to the Blue Mountains in the Adirondacks, however, there is no castle at the location she is thinking of….but there is a fire tower! (LOL)
Three or four of our already auditioned bridal contestants were also participants of the bridal show, as well as three new online auditioning brides. In all, we added 13 new bridal auditions to our portfolio Sunday….communication does pay off!
Well, it is off on another adventure this afternoon as George, Jeff, and I travel north to meet with venue properties and their management in what I hope to be as the location of our Iron Brides television production. MORE on that later!
Thank you to all for such a terrific, informative weekend!
Later!
