Iron Brides Readers ~ Here are the kind of hearts that the younger girls have……..

I wanted to share two responses I got this morning regarding a short-diddy blog that I put up last night after receiving a phone call….

This comment is from Jennifer Lessard, the first bride-to-be who submitted her application way back when….She’s very petite, but FULL of energy, fiesty, and has a very huge heart.  During auditions, she brought additional formal wear for girls to borrow in the event they didn’t have any or forgot to bring their own.  She also brought extra pumpkins for the pumpkin painting event held.  She is a dairy farmers’ daughter and there is a picture posted of her with a jersey calf in the blog listings.

Anyways….from Jennifer regarding the email I posted last night about Julia ~
AHHHHHH YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!  I HOPE she has the wedding of her DREAMS!!!

And this one from Julia, who didn’t know I had put the blog up…..(I know, sneaky!! LOL ).  Julia is my daughter and best friend.   I had both happy and sad feelings when learning that yup, this is for real.  Before the symbolic committment, it seemed like the usual conversation and thoughts.  Mom’s gotta get used to this…Course, I can always remind Frank that she is “just a loaner” and actually belongs to me!  Though she is in NY, she hears about Iron Brides from friends and me.

This is the response from Jules…
Thanks, mom! Love yaaaa and I can’t wait to see you this weekend! It’s gonna be a blast! :-D

Have a good day y’all!

Iron Brides Cookbook Idea…..SWEET!

Iron Brides Blog Readers……..Do you think that an Iron Brides Cookbook is a novel idea?    EVERY Iron Bride that has responded so far thinks that it is A GREAT IDEA!   Here is one more testimonial to the Cookbook idea, from Tarryn Brandl, a bridal contestant from Nashua, NH:

“While I am just getting home from work…. I had to comment quickly on the cook book idea… I LOVE IT!! I think ur all crazy for getting yourselves into another project but am sure it will be a huge success and can’t wait to contribute!!!  I will reply to your questions in the other email first chance I get in the am… but for now I’m off to spend my first moments of the day witha bowl of ice cream, Sean and my lil pups and fill myself in on this election!!!
Have a good night!”

There you have it!   More later…..

An Iron Brides Cookbook? You bet….

Not only can these Iron Brides girls iron, these girls can cook!   The Producers at Iron Brides are asking the contestants of the Iron Brides Production team to rummage through their Grandmothers, In-Laws, Mothers, Fathers, and their own old, new, and creative recipes in creating the first Season I Iron Brides Cookbook.

The response is creating a COOKING FRENZY!   I’ve had a great number of responses of some very, very appealing dishes, desserts, and treats.   Not wanting to let the cookies crumble and give away all of the recipes, I would like to share with Blog Readers just what this Project has started…..its creating more ties between brides-to-be and their Moms, their future Mothers-In-Law, and Grandmothers…..that is JUST what I want to know and hear!   How about including a section in the Iron Brides Cookbook focusing on “Bridal Shower” foods, beverages, desserts?

A couple of responses from Iron Brides bridal contestants, Sara Bush and Vania Crevier…..

From Sara Bush…..

“Hi Joann, I think this is a great idea! I am super excited!  Planning my wedding has already brought me closer together with my family as I find myself calling my mother, grandmother, fiancees mom, etc. almost daily to discuss and get their input on wedding detail,  I will certainly be calling them for recipes now too!

I’ll be back in touch soon!”

and from Vania Crevier….

“Hey I think the cookbook is a WONDERFUL idea!!  I think there should be a portion in it with recipe ideas you can use for a bridal shower too! Maybe you put in pictures of the brides and their food! I can’t wait to see how it comes out!”

Now, don’t you think that a collaborative Project such as an Iron Brides Cookbook would make for an invaluable gift?   More on that later!

Oh, I LOVE IT! Recipes from Iron Brides Bloggers….

“I’m not that great of a cook, but I love making desserts. Enjoy, it’s yummy!”…..says Kylin Szlosek of her Peanut Butter Pie recipe.

Oooh, Oooh, Oooh………here we go Iron Brides readers and recipe hounds!   I received my FIRST yummy recipe from Kylin Szlosek…. Check this one out – it sounds easy and tasty!  Send more, girls and guys~

PEANUT BUTTER PIE!!!!
What you will need:
1 graham cracker pie crust
1 cup of peanut butter
8oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup of sugar
12 oz. container of whipped topping, divided
11 oz. jar of hot fudge, divided

Mix together the peanut butter, cream cheese, and sugar. Fold in 3 cups of whipped topping. Spoon mixture into the pie shell. Using a spatula, smooth mixture to edges of pie.

Reserving 2 tablespoons of hot fudge, place remaining hot fudge into microwave for 1 min. Spread hot fudge over pie to cover the peanut butter layer. Refrigerate until serving time.

Just before serving, spread the remaining whipped topping over hot fudge layer, being careful not to mix the two layers.

Place the 2Tbs. hot fudge in a small baggie or sandwich bag and knead for a few seconds. Cut a tiny hole at the end corner of the bag and drizzle lines over pie. Do the same thing with 2Tbs. peanut butter going in the opposite direction of the hot fudge.

And that’s it!
I’m not that great of a cook, but I love making desserts. Enjoy, it’s yummy!

Iron Brides – The last day……….

Iron Brides Blog readers and fans – Friday, October 31st, was the last day to submit online questionnaires and any inquiries regarding auditionings for the Iron Brides reality show. Oh how quickly time passed!  It was just the beginning of October and we were in Nashua for the first audition day for Iron Brides.   WOW!

With 8 weeks behind us, ALL of the Iron Brides contestants can be proud of themselves for what they have done…..even for this!    If you have an hour or so, take the time to visit the Blog pages on the Iron Brides website www.ironbrides.tv and read over the information.   Jeff’s blog is a video-technological perspective, George’s is somewhat statistical, and mine….I guess its somewhat “diary-like” but that is what I want – I want to appeal to my readers by providing ”real-life” events and thoughts….

Checking out You Tube www.youtube.com/ironbrides over the course of the weekend as well will enable you to evaluate contestants, view, rate, and see what their viewing statistics look like.   If YOU were part of the group to decide 8 brides and 2 hosts, who would you vote for, what would you look for in a contestant?   This is not an easy endeavor to take on, believe you me as there are a number of factors that go into the selection process.

Well, being a Saturday, I’m going to grab a cup of coffee, my lap top, and take some time to look at the Iron Brides’ amazing online auditions that have been posted on the You Tube site.  There are a great number of auditions and skits that I have not had time to see….this is my time!

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
